A US strain highly popular in pot shops, Skywalker OG made its way to Europe riding on its wave of success.
Among its European recipients was Barney’s Farm in the Netherlands.
Barney’s Farm’s Unique Take on Skywalker OG
Instead of replicating Skywalker OG in its original form, Barney’s Farm decided to enhance it with an automatic blooming feature, transforming it into an autoflowering variety. After meticulous breeding, Skywalker OG Auto was born, ready to impress.
Underneath, it boasts of Barney’s Farm’s trusted Super Auto #1 genetics, seamlessly merged with the indica-dominant Skywalker OG. The legendary OG Kush contributes significantly to its excellence.
Growth and Development
Once planted, Skywalker OG Auto takes 70-75 days to blossom into a relatively petite autoflowering marvel, adorned with thick, frosty buds that hint at an impressive THC count of up to 23%. Cultivators can expect yields of 450-500 grams per sq.m.
Its aroma is a delightful blend of diesel, lemon, and tropical fruits. The flavor leans towards sweetness but is complemented by an earthy pine undertone. Notably, while it induces physical relaxation, it also offers a unique mental clarity, potentially leading to profound insights.
Ellis D.’s Experiment with Skywalker OG Auto
Experienced auto cannabis cultivator, Ellis D., decided to test two Skywalker OG Auto plants in his indoor setup. Within three days, the seedlings emerged, soon showcasing a bushy, horizontal growth with dark green, wide-fingered indica-style leaves.
Three weeks in, female pre-flowering signs were evident on the 23 and 25 cm tall plants. Ellis D. noted their timely transition to automatic flowering.
Flowering Stage Observations
During the flowering phase, the plants grew vertically but maintained their compact, lateral growth pattern. One plant produced leafier buds than the other, which had a higher calyx-to-leaf ratio.
However, the leafier plant had a more generous resin output, resembling a classic Afghani hash plant. Both plants produced large, dense buds and exuded a fuel-like aroma with hints of sweetness and lemon.
Harvest and Results
After reaching final heights of 49 and 57 cm and maturing within Barney’s Farm’s stated timeframe, the plants were harvested.
Once dried and cured, the buds weighed in at 67 and 75 grams. Ellis D. was particularly impressed with the yield relative to the plant sizes.
Skywalker OG Auto -Taste Test and Effects
